Steampunk Easter Eggs.

A brief History of the Easter Egg.

The early orthodox Church adopted the tradition of decorating eggs with die to celebrate Easter Sunday, the day of Jesus’ resurrection. Not only because eggs represent the begging of new life, but there are also other legends related to the decoration of eggs in some of the excluded gospels.

Two such stories are from or about Mary Magdalene herself. When Mary visited Jesu’s body in the tomb, she took a basket of cooked eggs for herself and the other women. After encountering the resurrected Jesus Christ, she looked down at the basket, and the eggs had turned a bright red in colour. Sometime after, during her Evangelical career, preaching the gospel, Mary Magdalene Visited the Emperor of Rome to tell him that “Christ has risen”. To which the Empora pointed to an egg on the table and said, “Christ has not risen any more than that egg is red”, and as soon as he spoke, the egg changed in colour to a vivid blood red.
