“Lighthouse”, a steampunk painting.

Once again, we have a new steampunk-themed painting to share with you. “Lighthouse” is the latest watercouler painting by the talented Eugene Ivanov.

The dreamy image conveys a distinctive scene often associated with steampunk storytelling. The lighthouse tower has many rooms or chambers where the antagonists encounter many events on their journey through the story. The lighthouse is also the top hat sitting upon the head of what may be a giant automaton or android being. Gears from behind the tower appear powered by a steam mechanism on one side of the android’s head. A tubular lamp on the rim of the top hat may also get its power from the same engine. But this part of the narrative of the painting is based on my imagination and personal interpretation, so who knows, you have a better story?

The Steampunk Aesthetic of the painting is enhanced by the bright copper-on-orange palette chosen by Ivanov.
